An autumn design by Marjolein Bastin: two chickadees feasting among branches heavy with orange berries, on a pale background. The kit holds everything needed for the stitching itself, so you can start as soon as the fabric is prepared.
Evenweave is usually worked over two threads, with two strands of stranded cotton for the cross stitch and one for the back stitch outlines; the long stitches pick out the finer twigs. You will also need a hoop or frame to keep the fabric taut, and small scissors. The frame shown in the photo is not included: the tall format suits a picture for a hallway or kitchen wall.
