Description

An almost painterly portrait: the girl's gaze, the depth of her hair and the green of the leaves come from many closely related shades, worked in cross stitch over two threads of linen. Long stitches and french knots are added for the details of the face and the flowers.

It suits stitchers who already know counted work and don't mind frequent colour changes: everything you need is in the kit, threads included, though you will still want a hoop or frame and a small pair of scissors. The frame in the photo is not included; once finished, the piece looks its best with a pale mount and a plain frame.
