Whimsyflower Rust

Whimsyflower Rust belongs to Chic Escape, the collection Tone Finnanger devoted to old French houses brought back to life, with her love of vintage fabric, pottery and flowers. The print is a big bouquet repeating on the diagonal: a large-scale design that works best on whole panels or generous blocks, where seams do not cut it up.

It suits cushion fronts and backs, bags, aprons, light curtains and the centre blocks of a quilt; the warm background sits nicely next to the aqua and lilac tones of the other fabrics in the collection. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew. If you need long strips, choose one of the larger cuts.
