Vera is Marjolein Bastin's little mouse: here she trudges through the snow with a fir branch in her arms, scarf flying and winter flowers swirling around her. The design is worked in counted cross stitch from a large-square chart, with a few long stitches for details such as the whiskers and twigs.
Evenweave is usually stitched over two threads, with one or two strands of stranded cotton depending on the coverage you prefer. Everything needed for the stitching is in the kit, apart from a hoop or frame and scissors, which you will need along with a frame for mounting: this wintry scene looks lovely framed or made up into a Christmas cushion.
