Solid Country Red

Solid Country Red is a plain shade from the Tilda basics range: a warm, slightly dusty red that works as a supporting colour next to printed fabrics. It is the fabric to reach for when you need quilt binding, cushion backs, sashing between blocks, appliqué shapes or the small details of Tilda dolls and decorations.

The cotton is closely woven and has a good body, so it cuts accurately and sews well both by machine and by hand. Wash it separately the first time, as reds can release dye, and pre-wash before cutting so that the slight shrinkage happens before you sew. For long borders or a quilt back, choose one of the larger cuts.
