Humming Along

Hannah Dale's hummingbird is stitched on white Aida that already carries a blue speckle print, so the background suggests the air around the wings and the fabric can be left showing instead of being filled in. You work from the chart over counted threads, adding back stitch to define the beak and the feathers; the cottons come ready sorted on the organiser, so there is no winding or matching before you start.

The hoop is not included: the round design is sized for a 7 inch hoop, which is also the easiest way to display it. Framing works just as well. The kit comes in plastic-free packaging.
