A late-autumn scene: snow has already settled on the fields, a red house with steep gables stands against the white of the mountains and an old rowing boat rests among the reeds. The contrast between cool greys and the orange of the trees gives the piece real depth and calls for care with the shaded areas, so it suits stitchers with a little experience.
On 16 count Aida the design is usually worked with two strands of stranded cotton, one cross over each block, giving close coverage and crisp detail. All you need to add is a hoop or frame and, once finished, a frame for the picture, which is not included.
