Solid Cerise

Solid Cerise is a cerise pink plain fabric from the Tilda Basics range, made to sit alongside the printed collections: when a block is busy with patterns, a solid colour gives the eye somewhere to rest. The cotton is soft but closely woven, easy to cut accurately and pleasant to sew by machine.

Use it for quilt backgrounds and borders, cushion backs, drawstring bags and aprons, or for the bodies of Tilda dolls, where a solid holds the stuffing neatly. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew; with strong colours like this one a first separate wash is a good idea. For long pieces, choose one of the larger cuts.
