Chambray Dots Mauve belongs to the Tilda basics: a cotton woven with warp and weft in different shades, which gives the mauve ground a softly mottled, slightly worn look, printed with evenly spaced pale pink dots. The medium-sized dots can be cut in any direction, so there is no need to worry about the way the design runs.
This is the fabric to reach for when you need a solid-looking tone that supports the Tilda florals instead of competing with them: framing blocks and borders in a quilt, linings, drawstring bags, aprons, dresses and doll bodies. Pre-wash before cutting so the shrinkage happens before you sew; for larger projects choose one of the longer cuts, so everything comes from the same bolt.
