Garden Vista is the feature design of Bloomsville, Tilda's summer collection: Tone Finnanger drew on old chinoiseries and on a motif found on a vase from a factory that closed in the 1960s. In the Iris colourway, garden scenes with parasol ladies, pagodas and little boats run across a bright lilac ground, with touches of orange, blue and fuchsia.
This is a large-scale print that works best cut generously: centre blocks of a quilt, borders, cushion backs, bags, aprons and curtains. It sits easily beside the Abloom blenders from the same collection, which pick up its colours. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew.
