Scallop Shell Blue

Scallop Shell Blue belongs to Cotton Beach, the Tilda collection inspired by the coast, shells, coral reefs and sea anemones. The print sets large fan-shaped shells in pale blue and cream against a tangle of purple, mint and teal leaves: a big, symmetrical design that looks its best where it stays whole, such as the centre blocks of a quilt, the back of a cushion or a fabric bag.

It sits easily alongside the smaller prints in the same collection, in coral, yellow and teal, for a summery palette. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew; if you need long strips or larger pieces, choose one of the bigger cuts.
