Description

A chaffinch caught in the act of picking up a feather, drawn by Marjolein Bastin with the naturalistic touch typical of her illustrations. The palette is small but carefully shaded, from the warm browns of the plumage to the soft yellow of the background, and the large-square chart is easy to follow even in the more detailed areas.

Evenweave is usually stitched over two threads, with two strands of stranded cotton for the cross stitch and one for the back stitch outlines. Besides the kit you will need small scissors and, if you prefer working with tension, a hoop or frame. The frame is not included: once finished, the piece looks well mounted with a pale mount that echoes the background.
