Dorothy Sky is one of the blenders in Something Blue, the Tilda collection born from blue and white pottery: tidy pale blue dots on a cream ground, a small quiet print whose job is to give the bigger patterns room to breathe. It is the fabric to reach for when you need sashing and outer blocks in a quilt, linings, cushion backs and borders.
Because the motif is small it also suits little projects: pouches, cases, dresses and aprons for Tilda dolls, bonnets and trims. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew. For long strips or for a quilt backing, choose one of the larger cuts offered on the page.
