Chickadees

A group of little birds perched among flowering honeysuckle, drawn by Marjolein Bastin with the soft colours and naturalistic line of her illustrations. The design is worked in counted cross stitch following the chart, with some backstitch outlines that sharpen beaks and feathers.

27 count evenweave is usually stitched over two threads, with one or two strands of stranded cotton depending on how dense you want the coverage; the threads come already sorted on the organiser, so you can start straight away. A hoop or frame makes the work easier to handle. The frame shown in the photo is not included: the finished piece can be framed or mounted on a padded board.
