Solid Petrol Bolt

Solid Petrol is one of the Tilda solids, a slightly greyed petrol blue that gives the eye a rest between the house's floral prints. In quilting, solids do the quiet work: backgrounds, borders, sashing squares and backings. Next to printed fabrics they open up the block and let the patterns show.

It is a medium-weight cotton, so it also suits small sewing projects, bags, pot holders, doll bodies and decorations. The price shown is for the basic cut: if you need a continuous strip for a border or a whole quilt back, choose one of the larger cuts. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so that the slight shrinkage happens before you sew.
