Late Bloomer Tomato

Late Bloomer Tomato belongs to Bloomsville, the bright summer collection from Tilda. Oversized fantasy blooms in pink, blue and turquoise open among feathery leaves on a warm tomato red ground, making a large-scale print that works best in generous pieces: the centre block of a quilt, a cushion back, bags, aprons and curtains.

It sits happily next to the Abloom blenders and the plainer prints of the same collection, which give the eye somewhere to rest when the pieces get small. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting so that the slight shrinkage happens before you sew, and choose one of the larger cuts if you need long strips or continuous borders.
