Tipsy Sour Yellow belongs to Sunday Brunch, the Tilda collection of soft vintage colours made for spring and summer sewing. It is one of the blenders of the range: tiny grey sprigs and pale blue flowers packed over a warm mustard yellow, so that from a distance the fabric reads almost as a solid and gives the larger prints room to breathe.
It works well in the small pieces of a quilt, in sashing and borders, and just as nicely for bag linings, pouches, cushions and Tilda makes, where a busy little print still shows in small cuts. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew. For long strips or a quilt backing, choose one of the larger cuts.
